Creating Reports with Incident Data from City as a Platform in Google Looker Studio
Managing urban operations effectively requires visibility into real-time incident data — and that’s exactly what this integration provides. With the City as a Platform (CaaP) Incidents connector for Google Looker Studio, users can seamlessly bring incident-related data into interactive reports and dashboards. This step-by-step guide is designed to help teams working in public services, operations, and IT connect their CaaP instance and start leveraging incident data to drive faster, more informed decision-making.
1. Select the relevant City as a Platform Connector
Navigate to your Google Looker Studio main page and select your report or create a new one.
Add a new Data Source to your report.
From the list of available data sources, search for the relevant City as a Platform connector.

Confirm access to your CaaP instance
In the initial CaaP connector configuration screen, type your instance name (the CaaP instance name must match the prefix of your CaaP instance URL: https://INSTANCE_NAME.city-platform.com’).
Type the CaaP API Key (CaaP API Keys are created and managed in the CaaP Manager by users with Administrator role).

From monitoring trends to optimizing response strategies, this setup provides a clear view into what’s happening on the ground. To maintain data integrity and control, make sure only users with administrative rights manage access and API keys during the configuration process.
