City as a Platform Customers Conference in Seixal

The City as a Platform Customers Conference brought together municipalities and partners to share innovation and experiences.

On February 25, 2025, the Seixal Municipality Auditorium hosted the 3rd City as a Platform Users Conference. This event, which has become a key gathering for users of our Urban Management Platform, brought together around 110 participants from 27 organizations across Portugal for a day dedicated to sharing best practices, innovation, and the future of smart territories.

Throughout the day, attendees heard firsthand experiences from organizations using City as a Platform to transform urban management. These presentations showcased different approaches and priorities, all united by a common commitment to public sector innovation.

The event was marked by engaging discussions about the future of cities, covering topics ranging from urban mobility and sustainability to IoT sensor integration, data governance, and citizen engagement.

City as a Platform Awards

This year also marked the launch of the City as a Platform Awards, created to recognize the projects and organizations that have demonstrated outstanding use of the platform and a strong commitment to innovation in territorial management.

Three awards were presented:

  • Origin Award – Estrela Parish Council, for being a pioneer in adopting the platform.

  • Innovation Award – Municipality of Lagoa, for its vision and advanced integration of IoT sensors.

  • Reference Award – Municipality of Vila Nova de Famalicão, for its consistent impact and implementation of best practices.

More Than a Technical Event

The conference was also an opportunity to strengthen our user community. Participants enjoyed several networking moments during coffee breaks and a truly memorable lunch aboard a boat, where conversations continued and new collaborations began to take shape.
